The Lion’s Tail is an interesting cocktail in a sense, that it occupies a space between whiskey and tiki cocktails. A truly unique position to be in.

Base of the cocktail is formed by Bourbon and its sweet vanilla, cinnamon and caramel notes surrounded by the aged oak. Allspice dram is the star of this cocktail, taking it in a slightly unusual, for a whiskey cocktail, direction with its signature tropical spice notes, really shining through. This tropical theme is then further reinforced by the addition of Angostura bitters, subtly changing the aromatic profile of the drink. Lime juice brings some refreshing tartness to the mix helping to tame the boldness of the liqueur and provides a little bit of so needed brightness. Finally, a touch of rich simple syrup restores the delicate balance, ensuring the best possible drinking experience.

The Lion’s Tail is a remarkably delicious and simple to make cocktail with a tropical twist on a bourbon-based drink. Tasty and refreshing to the very last sip.
