I have started my journey into the world of cocktails quite recently, in 2020. Before then, I was just a regular G&T or Whiskey Sour imbiber who did not think too much about the cocktails he was drinking.

However, in 2020 I had an idea: to make and taste a different cocktail every weekend in order to broaden my horizons and see what else was available out there. With that a new passion for mixology began. One by one I started accumulating bottles of fascinating spirits and liqueurs, testing different cocktail recipes and even developing some of my own special drinks. Eventually, a need occurred to somehow systemize and store the recipes I have tried, the tweaks I have made, plus my own ideas. At first, I was writing it all down into a little book, which turned into an Instagram page and now into this simple website.

I created this website primarily for cocktail enthusiasts and home bartenders such as myself. Here you will be able to find not only cocktail recipes I have tasted and the ones I have invented myself, but recipes, tips and instructions for different cocktail ingredients that you can make under home conditions.

Additionally, all cocktail recipes will come with a garnish and cocktail glass suggestions. I have also been playing around with the idea of the taste profile. Thus, I have developed a fairly simple scale for taste indication that accompanies every cocktail. However please keep in mind that it is my own subjective opinion and the taste may vary a lot depending on the freshness and type of ingredients. Nevertheless, I felt it might be a good addition, since the first question anybody asks me about any cocktail is “How did it taste?” and a straight-forward taste profile might help one find cocktails to their liking.

I have split the profile into five categories: bitterness, sourness, sweetness, spirit and booziness. First three are quite self-explanatory. Spirit is meant to indicate how prominent base spirit, liqueur or amaro is in the cocktail, while booziness provides an overall indication of how much alcohol is in a cocktail.

So, this humble, grouchy, home-bartender invites you to share his journey diving deep into the world of tasty booze, and who knows, perhaps even discover something completely new and fascinating.
