Stone Fence

COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 45 ml Rye Whiskey
- 60-90 ml Unfiltered Apple Juice (Cider)
- 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
- 2 Dashes of Peychaud's Bitters
- 1 Dash of Orange Bitters

GARNISH:
- Apple Fan

INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing glass.
• Add ice and stir for 30-45 sec. or approx. 60 revolutions.
• Strain into a cocktail glass over a large ice cube.
• Garnish with an apple fan.

Apples and whiskey are two ingredients, that blend together perfectly creating a cozy, warming experience intended to brighten up those long and cold autumn and winter evenings. Stone Fence captures this feeling incredibly well.

Base of the cocktail is a strong, sharp, peppery rye whiskey laying a strong and bold foundation for the drink. Unfiltered apple juice tames the wildness of spirit, while at the same time balancing delicately between sweet, tart and fruity. A blend of Angostura, Peychaud’s and orange bitters creates an additional layer of complexity, bringing the apple juice to life by introducing undertones of tropical spice, citrus and anise. This addition of bitters is really what makes the cocktail work for me, it gives a lively colourful kick to this traditional whiskey and apple pairing.

Stone Fence is a delicious afternoon sipper, combining simple ingredients, yet giving it a complex and sophisticated interpretation. Great cocktail - tasty to the very last drop.
