Summer is a high time for spritzes. Naturally, Aperol takes the centre stage in this category, through clever marketing and availability, it became essentially ubiquitous. However, spritz can be so much more, if you give it a chance. Rubino Tequila Spritz takes this rather simple cocktail template and reinvents it by combining a few different citrus notes for the best possible result.

Base of the cocktail is not clear cut, since there is a lot going on, but tequila blanco being the only high proof spirit in the mix technically fills the spot with bold vegetal, grassy agave notes. Addition of Italicus bergamot liqueur, gives the cocktail a strong sweet aromatic kick bringing it to life. Just a touch of lemon juice balances the cocktail with a bit of refreshing tartness. While prosecco and blood orange soda, introduces a dose of effervescence along with subtle citrus undertones lightening and lengthening the cocktail.

Rubino Tequila Spritz is a delightful and surprisingly complex spritz, a perfect terrace sipper for this summer.
