Chairman’s Refresher

COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 45 ml Blended Lightly-Aged Rum
(Preferably Banks 5-Island rum)
- 15 ml Frangelico
- 60 ml Coconut Water
- 3 Cucumber Slices

GARNISH:
- Cucumber Twist

INSTRUCTIONS:
• Muddle cucumber slices with Frangelico in a mixing glass.
• Add rest of the ingredients.
• Add ice and stir for 30-40 sec. or approx. 60 revolutions.
• Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with a cucumber twist.

Rum, coconut water and hazelnut liqueur makes a little strange cocktail combination. Yet in this scorching heat it somehow makes a perfect sense: a refreshing cocktail combining nuttiness and tropical flavours seamlessly.

Base of the cocktail is lightly aged blended rum bringing a complex mix of tropical fruit, vanilla and grassy notes. Recommended bottle for this recipe is Banks 5-Island Rum, but other alternatives work quite well also, although some adjustment to the specs might be necessary. Muddled cucumber adds almost cooling like quality which together with coconut water tames the base of the cocktail. Last, but not least, a touch of Frangelico brings sweetness enriched by the flavour of hazelnut, essential for the final cocktail profile.

Chairman’s Refresher lives up to its name by being truly refreshing. Although amount of ice and coconut water dilutes the essence a bit, it is exactly what makes it a perfect drink under the scorching sun.
