Ramble
COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 2 Fresh Blackberries
- 60 ml Gin
- 22,5 ml Cinnamon Syrup
- 22,5 ml Yuzu Juice
GARNISH:
- Blackberries
- Twist of Lime
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Muddle the blackberries in a cocktail glass and fill halfway with crushed ice.
• Add rest of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker.
• Add a bit of crushed ice and shake until chilled.
• Strain into a cocktail glass and top with more crushed ice if necessary.
• Garnish with some skewered blackberries and a twist of lime.

In my experience, muddled fruit cocktails are often a blast, combining liquor with fresh fruitiness gives a quality to the cocktail, that is difficult to match with ordinary fruit syrups or liqueurs. Ramble is a deceptively simple, but unbelievably tasty example of such a drink.
Base of this cocktail is the familiar juniper forward London dry gin laying a solid foundation for the drink. Cinnamon syrup, then brings rich, sweetness laden with warmth and distinct aroma. Muddled blackberries further builds in this direction by introducing a deep balanced fruitiness. Finally, yuzu juice balances the cocktail out with fragrant almost floral tartness, masterfully tying the flavour profile together.
All in all, Ramble might look rather simple on paper, but do not let that fool you, it as an unbelievably delicious evening sipper. I highly recommend giving this a try if you have a chance.
