Hemingway Breakfast
COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 50 ml Lightly Aged Cuban Style Rum
- 20 ml Fresh Lime Juice
- 10 ml Velvet Falernum
- 2,5 ml Orange Marmalade
- 3 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
- Absitnhe Rinse
GARNISH:
- Lime Twist
- Dried Clover Bud
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Rinse a chilled cocktail glass with absinthe and dump the excess.
• Combine rest of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
• Add ice and shake until chilled.
• Double strain into a prepared cocktail glass.
• Garnish with a lime twist and a dried clover bud.

Hemingway is a man that needs no introduction to a cocktail enthusiast, various cocktails bear Hemingway’s name or are connected with his persona in some way. Hemingway Breakfast is a delicious addition to this family of drinks and a perfect tribute to the writer.
Base of the cocktail, unsurprisingly, is a lightly aged Cuban style rum with delicate floral, fruity aromas as well as notes of molasses and sugar cane. Falernum adds sweet tropical spice to the mix, blending seamlessly with the rum. Orange marmalade further builds on the sweetness while at the same time providing some sweet and tangy citrusy input. Lime juice brings that lovely refreshing tartness balancing the cocktail out. A few dashes of Angostura bitters reinforce the tropical spices and together with strong anise notes of the absinthe increases the overall cocktail complexity.
All in all, Hemingway Breakfast is a tasty rum cocktail, that is a bit on a tart side, but still remarkably delicious.
