Summer is not synonymous with boozy stir-down cocktails, however, every now and again, one encounters a recipe, that is perfectly suited to be enjoyed under a scorching hot sun or in front of a roaring winter fire. Frangelico Old-Fashioned is a deliciously boozy and sweet old-fashioned riff, that is surprisingly smooth in the summer.
Base of the cocktail is bourbon, with sweet notes of corn, aged oak, caramel and a hint of vanilla. Frangelico adds a touch of nutty sweetness laden with hazelnut flavour, that pairs incredibly well with the aged bourbon base. Finishing touches of Angostura and mole bitters seasons the cocktail with tropical spices and a hit of cacao, binding it all together.
All in all, Frangelico Old-Fashioned is a simple and delicious cocktail where all ingredients play an important role. If you are an old-fashioned fan, this might just be a cocktail for you to try.
