Ellison

COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 4-5 Mint Leaves
- 6 Thin Cucumber Slices
- 45 ml Hendrick’s Gin
- 22,5 ml Fresh Lime Juice
- 15 ml Simple Syrup
- 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters


GARNISH:
- Cucumber Wheel
- Dried Rose Bud

INSTRUCTIONS:
• Muddle mint and cucumber slices in a cocktail shaker.
• Add rest of the ingredients.
• Add ice and shake until chilled.
• Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with a cucumber wheel and a dried rose bud.

Eastside is a well-known modern classic cocktail, that people have been enjoying for a couple of decades. Ellison is a very subtle riff with small, but essential differences, yet retaining the refreshing nature of its predecessor.

Base of this cocktail is Hendrick’s gin with the famous juniper and cucumber notes, pairing incredibly well with the cooling freshness of muddled cucumber slices and herbaceousness of mint. Fresh lime juice livens the cocktail up with distinct tart kick, while small addition of simple syrup balances the cocktail out letting individual flavour notes pop to the forefront. Finally, a couple of dashes of Angostura bitters seasons the drink with tropical spices, subtly altering the overall flavour profile.

All in all, Ellison does not stray far away from its predecessor, but takes just enough steps to distinguish itself as a unique cocktail. Deliciously cooling and refreshing, perfect choice for garden parties and summer gatherings.
