Warming temperatures, normally, signs the low time for boozy stir-down cocktails. However, the deliciously fruity nature of Angel’s Face, makes it uniquely suitable for spring and early summer. The combination of juniper, apple and apricot truly makes wonders in this drink.
There is no particular base in this cocktail, both gin and applejack carry about an equal amount of weight with aged nature of applejack getting a little bit of an edge. Combination of these spirits results in a rather dry style cocktail with a blend of apple, oak, juniper and citrus notes. Addition of apricot liqueur is the main an only form of sweetener, further reinforcing the fruity theme of the drink with a distinct stone fruit flavour blending very well with applejack. Garnish that with an expressed orange peel for aroma and you have yourself one tasty cocktail
Angel’s Face, for me, is a lovely drink perfectly suited for autumn, winter and spring. Simple, yet complex and remarkably delicious.
