Cocktail author: recipe by Jean-Felix from Truffles on the Rocks.
Chartreuse Swizzle is a delightfully refreshing tropical cocktail with strong and distinct flavour profile. So, making a successful riff on such cocktail is not an easy task. Yet, somehow, Not Far From a Tree pulls it off, by reinventing the drink and giving it a tasty Northen French spin.
Base of the cocktail is split between apple laden calvados and complex combination of floral and herbal notes of yellow chartreuse. Pear nectar provides a deep sweet fruitiness pairing well and supplementing the apple and oak notes of calvados. Mint brings an element of cool freshness while a healthy dose of fresh lime juice lightens the mood with strong tart kick, offsetting the sweetness of liqueur and pear nectar. Finally, a gentle addition of simple syrup makes sure things stay in the balance for the most pleasurable drinking experience.
All in all, Not Far From a Tree is a rather unique swizzle recipe full of delicious flavourful notes capturing ones attention from the very fist sip. I highly recommend giving this cocktail a try if you ever have a chance.
