Ancho Problem

COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 30 ml Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur
- 30 ml Blanco Tequila
- 15 ml Fresh Lime Juice
- 15 ml Demerara Simple Syrup


GARNISH:
- Grapefruit Twist

INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
• Add ice and shake until chilled.
• Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with a grapefruit twist.

Tequila and chillies go hand in hand and this delicious pairing has been masterfully exploited in Ancho Problem. A blanco tequila-based cocktail spiced with ancho chilli liqueur.

Cocktail base is pretty simple: equal parts blanco tequila and ancho reyes chile liqueur. Blanco tequila brings the beloved vegetal agave notes with chile liqueur providing tons of additional complexity with delicious spiciness of ancho chillies as well as subtle smokiness with hints of cacao and cinnamon. These ingredients together form a tasty and complex base that only requires a gentle modification. Lime juice brings the refreshing tartness brightening the cocktail up and taming the boldness of the cocktail base. Finally, a touch of demerara syrup adds a few additional notes rich in molasses and toffee nicely balancing the cocktail.

All in all, Ancho Problem is a rather simple, yet unbelievably delicious cocktail full of warming spice of ancho chillies. Great choice is you love spiciness and tequila.
