Martini and Alasaka are two classic stir-down cocktails, that need no introduction to any cocktail enthusiast. Puritan is sort of cross between the two, but perhaps still leaning more towards The Martini.

Unsurprisingly, base of the cocktail is gin with those beloved juniper notes as well as coriander, citrus and earthiness of angelica root laying a solid foundation for the drink. Dry vermouth adds a touch of complexity with delicate undertones of citrus and Alpine botanicals, especially if you chose Dolin, which works remarkably well in this cocktail. A touch of yellow Chartreuse further expands the botanical complexity, but kept at a modest dose it does not overpower the overall flavour profile. Finally, a couple of dashes of orange bitters helps to blend the ingredients together and gives the cocktail that one last kick of complexity for the most pleasurable drinking experience.

Puritan is a complex and boozy cocktail, suited perfectly for crisp and clean Martini style cocktail lovers. Great drink to relax with after a long and hard day at work.
