Once I read the recipe for Part-Time Lover, a combination of Blanco tequila, Aperol and elderflower liqueur I was quite intrigued. It seemed like it could be a great cocktail especially for the summertime and while the warm summer months are far away, at least it brings back the feeling of the warm sunshine on your face.

Base of the cocktail is blanco tequila with prominent vegetal agave notes, setting the tone for the cocktail. Aperol brings sweets orange flavour with a touch of bitterness at the end, that lately became synonymous with light summer style drinks. Elderflower liqueur expands the gamma with the addition of delicate, fragrant floral sweetness. Touch of fresh lemon juice, brings back the balance with the refreshing tartness. Lastly, a couple of dashes of Angostura bitters seasons the cocktail with tropical spice and fruit notes, binding it all together.

Part-Time Lover is a deceptively light and bright cocktail, instantly bringing back the feeling of warm summer days. Great to relax with after the hard day at work, even in the middle rainy, cold autumn.
