Number 5 is an incredibly intriguing cocktail, combining bourbon, chilli spiciness, fruitiness and citrus into a single and complex drink. DYI mango syrup requires a little effort, but it is absolutely worth it since the result is amazing.

Base of the cocktail is bourbon bringing delicious notes of oak, caramel and vanilla. It is then combined with home-made mango syrup, probably the most complex ingredient in this cocktail, blending flavours of mango, sharpness of ginger and sweet richness of Mexican cola. (It seems like a lot of effort for a single ingredient, but it is incredibly tasty, so much so, that you can just mix whatever is left with a bit of soda water for a quick, non-alcoholic refreshment.) A touch of chilli liqueur, plays off of the ginger increasing the spicy dimension of the cocktail. Lastly, some fresh lemon juice balances the cocktail with signature fragrant tartness, while a few dashes of Angostura bitters season the drink with tropical fruit and spice flavours.

All in all, Number 5 is a fascinating cocktail. Warmth of bourbon and spiciness envelops you with the first sip and will not let you go until the glass is empty.
