Limoncello is a quintessential summer spirit: bright, vibrant, citrusy, refreshing and yet it is just as delicious in the middle of winter. Limoncello Sour is a simple, but remarkably effective way to showcase the best qualities of this Italian invention.

As you probably already guessed, the base of this cocktail is limoncello, bringing those bright, sweet, zesty lemon notes right to the forefront of the drink. Touch of amaro Nonino introduces some subtle complexity with its bittersweet herbal profile enriching the structure of the cocktail. A healthy addition of lemon juice gives the drink a refreshingly tart kick, with egg whites providing that delicious decadent foam texture. Lastly a few dashes of various bitters season the cocktail, increasing the overall complexity and reinforcing individual ingredient notes.

Limoncello sour is a fantastic addition to the sour style cocktail family. It is time to dust off that bottle of limoncello and put it to good use.
