Mosquito
COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 22,5 ml Mezcal
- 22,5 ml Sweetened Ginger Juice
(4 parts juice, 3 parts sugar)
- 22,5 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
- 22,5 ml Campari
GARNISH:
- Candied Ginger
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
• Add ice and shake until chilled.
• Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with some candied ginger.

Sam Ross has created a number of well-known cocktails; we now consider to be modern classics. Mosquito is often overshadowed by its other better-known siblings, but it is a complex and delicious drink, absolutely worth more attention.
It is an equal parts cocktail. The main and only spirit in the specs is Mezcal, bringing prominent smoky, vegetal agave notes. Such bold spirit is paired with equally strong amaro. Campari laden with bitter-sweet taste of orange stands up to the Mezcal creating a remarkably tasty fusion. Sweetened ginger juice provides a lively sharp bite breathing life into the drink, while an addition of lemon juice introduces some fragrant balancing tartness.
All in all, Mosquito is a delicious and sophisticated cocktail, refreshing in the summer and comforting in the winter. Absolutely worth a try.
