To this day, champagne is the go-to drink for the New Year celebrations. This is why I suggest to start the 2026 on a slightly different note and raise the glass of champagne cocktail instead.
Diamond Blue is a great candidate for it. Not overly complex or complicated it is a perfect drink for larger gatherings, where many champagne lovers might look at cocktails with a bit of scepticism.
Cocktail specifically calls for Hendrick’s gin with prominent flavours of juniper, cucumber with a hint of floral elements to it. The latter combines remarkably well with the sweet and floral crème de violette as well as orange notes of blue curacao. Together, the liqueurs, provide the deep sapphire blue, that makes it stand out. Just a touch of lemon juice gives the cocktail a slight tart push, helping with the balance. Finally, a generous dose of dry champagne lengthens the cocktail, introduces the lively effervescence while further building on the floral base of the cocktail.
Diamond Blue might not be the most complex or sophisticated drink, targeted at the cocktail nerds, but in my humble opinion it is a rather good celebratory cocktail, perfect for crowds of various tastes.
