Blue Tulip
COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 52,5 ml Blanco Tequila
- 30 ml Pistachio Orgeat
- 15 ml Fresh Lime Juice
- 5 ml Midori
- 5 ml Orange Curaçao
GARNISH:
- Sprig of Mint
- Pistachio Crumbs
- Pistachios
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
• Add ice and shake until chilled.
• Strain into a cocktail glass over fresh pebble ice.
• Garnish with a sprig of mint, pistachio crumbs and whole pistachios.

When I first saw the recipe for Blue Tulip, I was immediately intrigued. A combination of pistachio, tequila and melon, seemed to be a promising and unique in a cocktail world. Certainly not like the number of traditional recipes.
Base of the cocktail is tequila blanco, rich in vegetal agave notes which set the tone for the drink. Sweet nuttiness of pistachio orgeat gives the cocktail its indulgent texture as well as complex flavour tone, when combined with muskmelon and honeydew flavours of Midori. Addition of lime juice introduces a touch of freshness and tartness helping to counterbalance the sweetness. Last, but not least, a gentle dose of orange curaçao subtly increases the overall complexity with its oak and orange flavours.
Blue Tulip is a delicious and complex cocktail with unusual favour profile and indulgent drinking experience. Great choice for seasoned cocktail drinkers.
